Patnitop is situated on a plateau in the Shiwalik belt of the Himalayas and sits at an altitude of 2024 meters with the river Chenab flowing closely. It comprises several meadows enveloped by thick forests of Deodar(Cedar) and Kail(Blue Pine) trees. It also has Conifer groves which are indeed beautiful spots for picnics
You can also go horse riding and for short treks into the surrounding hills. During snow fall, these meadows with their gentle slopes are ideal for skiing and sledging.
Various skiing courses for beginners are conducted here.
