PM Narendra Modi Thanks India On Its 1st Demonetisation Anniversary: Opposition Calls It “Black Day”

Do you remember when PM Narendra Mod on 8th November 2016, made an important change in the economic policy of the country by making drastic changes in the country? Yes, you are right. Last year on this day the government had banned and withdrawn old 500 and 1000rs notes from circulation to stop black money and corruption.

Well, this story has two folds. Some said that it affected their lives and the decision made by the government was not right, while on the other hand, many people supported this move and were very happy when this change had taken place.

On this special ocassion to mark the 1st anniversary of demonetisation, PM Modi takes this moment to thank the people of India for their constant support during this time and he also shared a video on twitter highlighting the benefits of Demonetisation.

Though PM Modi and BJP take this opportunity to celebrate the #AntiBlackMoneyDay, the opposition on the other hand calls it the “Black Day.” Political leaders from different states including the Congress party also criticized this noteban move. In her Facebook post she criticizes demonetisation move saying it is a big scam.

P. Chidambram has also shared a tweet where he mocks and stands against this move, whereas the Congress leader Rahul Modi has started campaigns across the entire country and holds protest march sessions with slogans like, “ desh bhugat raha hai” ( India suffers).

Not only that, Shashi Tharoor has kept his Twitter DP black, in order to observe the “ Black Day” and he also shares a post on twitter.

Well, since the opposition party is against this move, BJP on the other hand are celebrating this successful move as Smriti Irani flags off the “digital- rath” as part of an initiative to accelerate the adoption of cashless payments among merchants in various cities.

Like I said there are two-opinions to this move. So, I leave it for you to decide! Looks like BJP is in the mood to eradicate all the black money no matter whatever comes their way.
