As the whole nation is celebrating the great victory of the Indian soldiers in the Kargil War of 1999 today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too, reacted on the Kargil Vijay Diwas and has remembered the sacrifice of our soldiers.
Adding that the day reminds the nation of country’s military prowess, the Prime Minister wrote on Twitter,

On the occasion of 18th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley along the three heads of the armed forces paid floral tributes to the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate.
In Jammu and Kashmir, at Drass War Memorial, the celebrations for the day began from Monday.
On July 26, 1999, Indian Army secured an emphatic success by defeating the Pakistan and taking control of the high altitude mountains in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. The armed scuffle lasted for 60 days and 500 soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces sacrificed their lives.
