The wait is finally over as India gets a Miss World after 17 years. Yes, it is none other than the beautiful Manushi Chillar who was crowned this title on 18th November in an event held in China. She was competing with 108 contestants who belonged to different countries and she was one among the top 5 contestants who was eagerly waiting for the crown.
Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title back in 2000 and after that Manushi broke the record and made India proud. Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle won the Miss World title in 2016 and she handed over the crown while everyone applauded for this amazing moment.
The gorgeous Manushi Chillar is 20-years old and is from Haryana and she won the Miss Femina India in June 2017. She is a medical student and she completed her education from St Thomas school New Delhi and her graduation from Bhagat Pool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat.
She is a trained classical dancer and some of her hobbies include outdoor sports activities like bungee jumping, snorkelling and scuba diving. According to her profile in the Miss World website she aims to become a Cardiac Surgeon and she wants to open non-profit hospitals in rural areas.
When she reached the top five position, she was asked certain set of questions out of which she was also asked, which profession she thought deserved the highest salary and why.
Her answer was simply stunning as she stated saying that it is not the salary of the person that matters but a mother is worthy of the highest respect.
“I think a mother is of highest respect. I don’t think its just about cash but love and respect she gives to someone. She is the biggest inspiration in my life. Mother should get highest respect. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary,” Chhillar said to a wide-applause.
She took to twitter to thank everyone for their constant love and support. She tweeted, “Thank you, everyone, for your constant love, support, and prayers. This one’s for India.”

Manushi won the Miss World while the first and second runners up were Miss England Stephanie Hill and Miss Mexico Andrea Meza at the event.
Before her other beautiful women who won this title previously were Aishwarya Rai in 1994, Diana Haydon 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
Many people appreciated and congratulated Manushi for this outstanding achievement including PM Modi as well.
