SabudanaKhichidi – Maharastrian Recipe

Sabudana or Sago is traditionally eaten during fasting and is also one of the preferred foods by people all around India.

Although there are many ways that sabudana could be prepared- khichidi, vada, pay or papads to name few, khichidi is one of the easiest and tastiest foods eaten.

Recipe

Ingredients
•    1 cup Sabudana
•    2 potatoes (boiled)
•    ½ cup roasted peanuts
•    Oil
•    1 tspn cumin seeds (jeera)
•    2 green chillies
•    ½ tspn sugar
•    2 tblspn coconut (grated)
•    1 tblspn lemon juice (or as per taste)
•    Salt

Instructions
1.    Wash one cup of sabudana in water and soak in water for 30 min and drain the water and let it stay put for 7-8 hours.
2.    Crush the roasted peanuts and cut the potatoes into small cubes.
3.    Heat oil in a pan and add jeera, green chillies, potatoes, salt, sugar and sauté.
4.    Add the sabudana, mix well and cook on low flame for 5mins.
5.    Now add the peanut powder and the coconut. Cook for 1min.
6.    Serve after squeezing lemon juice and garnish with Coriander.
