Recently, acclaimed singer Sonu Nigam, too, had expressed his displeasure over the “loud” Azaan in his area, which is starting in the morning through a mosque.
Krishnamoorthy has tweeted that Sonu Nigam was also speaking about the mosque in the same area.
well the azaan seems to have gotten louder since his tweet. Its ridiculous. He tweeted from same location as me https://t.co/ZRl06bEewu

She also made it clear that she does not require loud speakers to wake her up in the morning.
i wake up at Brahmamuhurt of my own accord & do my prayers & riyaz.& yoga. I dont need public loudspeakers to remind me of my God or my duty https://t.co/7rPSzG1EfB

However, the singer-cum-actress has maintained that she is objecting to the concept of Azaan but the loudness it is making in the morning which is resulting into waking up of whole community.
nobody objects to azaan or prayers during decent hours. But to be wakung up entire neighbourhood at 5 am is not civilized https://t.co/PBT94NtuGN

Loudspeakers are not allowed between 10 pm to 6 am. Yet this law is repeatedly broken for azaan . Poilce & everyone else turns a blind eye. https://t.co/szr08QWP60

Krishnamoorthy’s tweet received a lot of reactions from the users both against and supporting her remark. Politicians such as Waris Pathan of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Abu Azmi of Samajwadi Party also attacked the actor personally and questioned her characters claiming that such remarks ridicule the entire inclusive Indian culture.

She has also clarified and agreed that she went forward with the words she used in the tweet and said that she got “carried away”.
and yes i agree my words were too strong. Its the writer & dramatist in me – i get carried away https://t.co/OhIOIMSOfI

While it is completely understandable to worship your faith, it should not be imposed on the whole community. Honourable Supreme Court has already issued a verdict against the loudspeakers over religious places.
However, these issues are not to be discussed on the social media. It is a duty of local authorities in the city to take a notice of problems faced by the citizen and act upon it quickly. Converting this issue into a debate will only politicize the issue even more and the political parties will play their game on it. Solving the issue maintaining the social fabric is highly important.
