No No ! You are reading it right. . . Its “ Textpectation” . An ultra-modern phrase which is formed by the amalgamation of “Text” and “Expectation”.Meaning according to the dictionary : The anticipation one feels when waiting for a response to a text message. (Eg: I just texted her for a date – but now the textpectation is killing me.)
We all must have experienced and/ or experiencing this in our daily life. I want to talk about mostly about the Y generation- along with our overly curious and smart teenagers& post-teenager brother and sisters. It really is completely absconded moment in life when our most beloved suddenly refrains from their previous flow of text. It seems that all of a sudden world is covered with the cloud of darkness and sadness and we all get a thousand thoughts like we are some research scientists. This particular symptom doesn’t seem to have any recovery record in the medical treatment history .These all the because of the large contribution of “Textpectation”
Why only restrict to a teenagers, victims of Textpections are found in every place of our society from job seekers to sincere parents and young prospective partners.
In this huge crisis of jobs- chances of getting a positive reply from company career portals is like writing a letter to president for tuition fee waiver. Yah. . what I mean to say is that the probabilities are such, that you need to see under an electron microscope. So, for common man after sending a job application mail, an automatically generated Textpectaion almost kills us. And the most exciting part is, we can’t get rid out of it.
Let me give you some more depressing examples: “God knows why my child is not picking up the call!, or he/she would have text me , it’s more than an hour that he/she is out of connection or why haven’t he/she replied me back? Are they not interested or maybe even worse what if he/she is out on a date?“
Most common sentence faced by almost everyone in the world , and yes- everyone are a victim of Textpection.
Coming to culprit diagnosis, I won’t shy awayfrom blaming our “Tech Dependence Mentality”. More and more smooth communication ways made us nothing but more dependent and has forced us to believe in more prominent connection that can trap people every second.
Here is my non-suggestible solution for the people: To overcome Textpectation is DEATH 😉
As long we are alive we have to bear it with the forced fake smiling face.
