Vinod Khanna, the real beginner of romance in Bollywood, passes away this morning. The veteran actor was struggling with cancer for past few years. In the previous month, he was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital for his serious condition. Later, his son revealed that he was facing the medical condition of dehydration but the situation was under control. He remained in the hospital for over a month. He was an active Bollywood veteran actor, politician, and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur in Punjab.
After his death, the hospital authority released a statement to the media, which says, “Veteran actor and Member of Parliament Mr. Vinod Khanna, who was admitted to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital breathed his last at 11.20 am due to advanced bladder carcinoma.”
Mr. Khanna acted in more than 100 films. He outshined in his Bollywood career during the years between the 1970s and 1980s. Initially, he started his acting career as a negative character in most of his films and kept on doing so for quite a while.
But, after that, he started getting roles as a lead character and that is how he started bagging great movies, one after another. He was highly praised for his performances in movies like Qurbani, Dayavaan, Amar Akbar Anthony, Jurm, Mere Apne, and a couple of more.
In the year 1975, he was awarded a Filmfare award for his supporting role in the movie ‘Haath Ki Safaai’. Later, he was awarded ‘Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award’ in the year 1999. And, in the year 2007, he received ‘Zee Cine Award for Lifetime Achievement’. Even after being such a big Bollywood star and even being at the peak of his acting career, he chose to take a break from his professional life. He then went to join Osho Rajneesh.
He came back after a long interval of 5 years and re-started his acting career. His comeback movies, Insaaf and Satyamev Jayate, did really great for him. Besides his acting career till now, he was being in politics too. A few of his latest movies include Dabangg 2, Dilwale, and others.
It is believed that in last days of his life, he was surrounded by his family.
