Tea steeping is not easy- its not boiling water, adding sugar, ginger/cardamom/masala, milk, bring to a boil and serve! No way ..it’s not that simple- wait . . it actually is. It just requires attention and well, maybe a bit of practice.
In our last article, we discussed how to steep a perfect tea- in this article, we shall show you how to make that perfect cup of always!
When the tea is boiling at peak, place a lighted matchstick directly above the steam, wait and observe for 3 seconds:
• If the flame goes off in 3 seconds, the tea is perfect.
• If the flame goes off in 1–2 seconds, the sugar is in excess. Dilute with some water and a little milk and boil.
• If the flame stays for about more than 4 seconds, then your tea is way too diluted. Add some milk and sugar, boil and repeat the flame test.
Now, isn’t this flame test simply amazing? Go on and test your blend and get that coveted taste in every cup.
