Dhoni has dependably always been an important part of the Virat Kohli led Indian team and furthermore helped the Men in Blue seal the ODI and T20I series against New Zealand, both of which completed at 2-1.

The 36-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman will now enjoy a break from cricket, as Virat Kohli and team are preparing for a three-match Test series  against Sri Lanka at home, with the first Test starting on November 16 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The veteran will be back in game for India when they play a restricted overs seriesgainst the Islanders, beginning on December 10.

Dhoni had reported his retirement from Test cricket in 2014, to draw out his limited overs profession. Not long ago, he had likewise ventured down as chief of the Indian side for ODIs and T20Is, passing the duty to Virat Kohli, who turned into the captain of the group for every one of the three series.
