Each day, millions of animals around the world including dogs, rabbits, cats, hamsters, mice and even rare primate are taken from their homes and used for animal testing worldwide. It is unfortunate to think how these animals are subjected to cruelty just to benefit ourselves.
We live in a world where we desire peace and harmony. Let us end this animal cruelty before we destroy all the good reasons as to why we are the apex predator. Here are five reasons as to why you should switch to non-cruelty products.
1. Animal testing isn’t actually necessary.
To test the product after it is made, lab scientists who have designed the product choose animals to test them on, to determine whether the product is suitable for animals or not. However, there are non-animal tests available that are in fact faster, cheaper and more accurate at predicting human reactions to the product. Despite this, some companies choose to test on animals. Here is the first step for you to stop supporting companies which test on animals.
2. You can help end the suffering of product-tested animals.
There shouldn’t be much of an explanation for this. Testing on animals is not only unethical but also inhumane. Animals are tortured, poisoned, blinded, burnt and ultimately killed, all in the name of fashion and beauty. By switching to cruelty-free products you are supporting brands which have better ethical and humane practices.
3. There are an abundance of good cruelty-free brands to pick
As the awareness for the unethical use of animal testing is increasing, there are more companies which are becoming more cruelty free. Start by supporting these alternatives to help save animals. To identify which brands are cruelty-free, look for the cruelty-free bunny logo on the product. This means that their product is not tested on animals.
4. Cruelty-free products are actually better for your skin
Brands which test on animals use harsh chemicals to determine the effect of the product on your skin for faster results which are “better”. But this is totally inaccurate. Brands which do not let on animals use natural products and non-toxic ingredients which are actually more gentle on your skin.
5. Be nature’s friend
Not only are cruelty- free products better on your skin but also better for the environment. When brands test on animals and use harsh chemicals, most of their products manufacture toxic chemicals which are released into the air. Laboratories which do this testing and manufacture the product release large amounts of waste and carbon emissions. Studies show that brands which test on animals release 12 tonnes of waste a year, including dead animal carcasses and excrement. Cruelty free products produce less or no waste and carbon emissions and also have sustainable packaging.
Only you can help make a difference and end the suffering of these animals now. Switch to cruelty free products. To help you choose, here are a list of 10 brands which do not test on animals:
